I saw the city I live in through new eyes thanks to the fantastic photography tour I did with James. His passion for photography and Edinburgh shines through and he certainly over delivers every step of the way. He makes the tour entertaining and fun and it's clear he enjoys passing on historical facts about the places you're photographing, in addition to sharing great stories about his fascinating career. I highly recommend taking his tour (it's amazing value for money) whether you live in Edinburgh or you're visiting. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

My son and I really thoroughly enjoyable our tour. Learned new things about Edinburgh, walked about in the sunshine and totally left with a much better understanding of aperture and shutter speed which I'm really pleased about as I've been struggling to understand these things for ages, Highly recommended
I was lucky enough to be the only person booked in on James’ tour – and so got a private 4 hour walking tour! I would definitely recommend this walking tour to anyone interested in photography. James taught me so much about my camera, photography, the history of Edinburgh, as well as sharing some interesting stories from his career. I walked away with some great photos and the confidence to finally use the manual mode on my camera. This tour is absolutely worthwhile and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks James!
My boyfriend and I did the tour with James on our first day in Edinburgh and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Nobody else booked the tour for this day so we had a private session with James without any additional costs. You see the main sights of the city, learn about its history and James has some great stories to tell and recommendations to give. And of course the main reason for taking the tour: learning about photography!
I am so much more enthusiastic now about using the manual settings on my camera. James taught us so much and I really got a feeling for the different settings and composition. And I took great pictures of Edinburgh and the rest of our Scotland trip since I put all the learnings into practice. Thank you so much James for this all-around fantastic experience!!
Fantastic tour. I was fortunate to have a one-to-one tour. I have known Edinburgh all of my life and I learned new things about the city. More importantly for me, I learned how to use my camera in a much more effective way. Thanks, James; great day out in the city.

Our four photography tours offer a unique blend of sightseeing and hands on photography tips, both for experienced photo enthusiasts and absolute beginners.
Joining a long list of glowing recommendations here to say thank you so much James, not only for your incredibly insightful historical walking tour of Edinburgh, but also for all your patience and photographic pearls of wisdom (and your lunch recommendations too!). Already in such a short period of time, I'm positive the quality of my compositions have improved (there's now a voice in my head that keeps reminding me not to take the path of least resistance and to look more actively for the better shot) and you've given me so more confidence to shoot in manual mode.
