Customer Testimonials

You put me at my ease (as much as I think was possible under the circumstances) and your skill and quiet authority gave me (justifiable) confidence in your skills. Once again thank you very much; these photos are going to be immensely useful and it is particularly nice to have a respectable and dignified photograph. Frankly I don’t know why I didn’t do this years ago.

Excellent photographer and lovely to work with – friendly, amenable, professional, easy-going, unobtrusive, and gets on with the job with no fuss – just what one wants and needs of a professional photographer.

It's the last race in Europe this weekend using our new motorhome and the photos, and we are still getting so many lovely comments so thank you again. Hopefully, we can use your talents again in the future.

We needed some portrait photos for a website and stationery. Really pleased with both the experience and the results. I was very impressed at the amount of expertise applied, and it was well worth the cost.

From Our Website

Commercial and corporate photography is all about promoting the products and services of any business or organisation. It's a highly developed skill capturing you, your personnel, services and your products in a professional light to display your image, sales message and vision. Commercial photography requires a huge range of expertise and skills to cover anything from corporate portraits to architectural images or product photography. Keith Barnes Photography's primary area is in commercial and corporate photography across Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley.

Pictures of people would seem to be an easy thing, but you may have noticed getting really good portrait photographs is much more difficult than just pointing a camera at a subject. I have spent decades making portraits, business portraits, profile portraits, graduation portraits, PR portraits, family portraits and more recently social media portraits and dating website portraits. They are all different, one size does not fit all. The one thing that has to define a really good portrait photographer is that they like people.

I have been to thousands of conferences, capturing the key speakers, break out sessions, informal meetings, registration, coffee breaks and formal dinners. Conferences are an important part of the business and academic world and where people come to share ideas, present new theories and products and to network. Conferences are also events where companies bring together their staff and executives to keep everyone informed and up to date with current movements and developments. If you organise a conference you will be using social media to tell a wider audience and you will want professional images that stand out to be picked up and used on the web and in other social and trade outlets.

Whether you are looking to improve the images in your college prospectus or add high resolution photos to an academic magazine, I'd be delighted to help you. My academic photography captures images of university life, teaching and study to show off your institution, students and staff in the best possible light. Great academic photography needs to inspire and impress. Whether it is to encourage prospective undergraduates to choose a specific college or to motivate current students, professional photos can be used to tell a story and promote a message.

You may wonder why I, a professional, commercial photographer wants to share my personal images with you. I think that it is important for my clients to know I am passionate about photography; that I don't just pick up my camera when someone is paying me and that I have been so for more than 40 years. I have been absorbed by the image making process starting with a darkroom in the bathroom before I was a teenager. Then in 1982 I was able to turn my passion into my living when I started the Photographers Workshop.

For a number of years I have worked with companies across Oxfordshire and throughout the South East photographing products for use on websites and in adverts, leaflets and brochures. The products could be an individual item in a studio setting, then supplied as cut outs, or they could be a part of a lifestyle set. I work both in the studio and on location depending on your needs and requirements, as well as the practicalities of the products themselves. If you have any questions about my photography or if you would like to get started, please get in contact with me today - product photography can be from as little as 10 per item, please get in touch for a quote.

When I started The Photographers Workshop in 1982 it was the first commercial darkroom and studio hire centre in the UK. The facility had more than 20 enlargers allowing black and white and colour processing and printing, the studio was a fully equipped professional photographic studio. As part of the service we provided tuition in photography on a 121 and course or workshop basis under the name of The Oxford School of Photography. I have been teaching photography for more than 30 years. Time and the evolution of photography meant that in about 2009 we closed the darkrooms but embarked on the new and exciting world of teaching digital.
