Not only did the photographer offer excellent value for money the standard especially the work done after such as effects we were wanting were unbelievably fantastic! We asked for certain effects such as colour mix and adding visual effects. We didn't even know it was possible but James came up with th exact things we wanted!!

My university used this company to take photographs for our graduation ball. BIG MISTAKE. The owner of the company was rude, obnoxious and completely unprofessional when dealing with us during the night.

His lack of professionalism was then demonstrated further with his customer service after the event. A number of students purchased hard copies of their photos which were sent to them. However upon request of an electronic format being sent (email) with the pictures, students were informed that a further J10 was required per photo. In questioning this charge which was not made clear from the outset, the owner was completely hostile. I can not believe that after purchasing the photos, someone would then demand more money for an email to be sent as this, according to him, would be detrimental to his business. It does not cost anything to send an email, infact I have attended other events where I have received an automatic electronic copy of the photos that I have purchased at no additional cost.

The owner has been unable to fulfil a simple request and is severely lacking basic customer service skills which are paramount to any business. I certainly would not recommend this company at all.

I paid over J1000 for Alex Smale to photograph and video our wedding in August 2009. The quality of some of the images were very poor. Out of the 700+ photographs only about 100 are of any use! Blurry, out of focus, things of importance cut off! Not that we have received our album or DVD to know this! We received a CD with all the images on and were told to select around 50 for editing, without any consoltations meetings or anything! We were asked to email a list of the photos which i have done several times now, but have had no response from Alex! This is 20 months after our wedding! I've tried contacting Alex through my personal email and the email address on the website, but to no avail! Yet they have the nerve to use one of our photos on both their website and newspaper advertisments! I cannot stress how poor the service received from this company is! Alex was rude to our guests and all commented about this after he left! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE J1000!

Last year our family celebrated the marriage of my cousin. They had hired Barry of Pixel8 to take the photos. I have to say that he is unable to clearly communicate with guests, infact he was rude to us, shouting at us, and was rude to my grandmother telling her to hurry up when he could clearly see she has mobility problems.

His lack of organisation ment that the guests waited nearly two hours while he was getting the perfect shots. A good photographer will be so discrete you would not know they are there. Barry was in no way discrete. When he was unable to capture the moment of my cousin and his new bride walking down the isle, Barry actually stopped the couple and asked them to re-walk so he could get his shot. He got all of our backs up and we thought perhaps it is his artistic temprement, maybe he is such a great photographer he can afford to be offensive...How wrong we were. When, many months later, my cousin received the photos of the special day, they were beyond disappointed.

To sum up, Rude, Loud, bossy, offensive and produces photos that are complete disappointment. A speed camera would have captured the day better.

I phoned Jimmy with hardly any notice and he saw us alright. I found out later that he actualy had a holiday planned for that day, the day we were getting wed. We feel very fortunate that we have found them! We wouldn't trust anyone else with our most special time - the pregnency - just like we wouldn't trust anyone else to capture the little personality of our new born child. They came to our house and made both sessions comfortable, relaxed and we had so much fun too:) They are very creative but also listening what you expect. The end results are stunning! We would recommend them to everyone!

Claire was due to take photo's of my wedding in Aug. She did us an exceptional deal, and to begin with we were happy. As a first time bride i was not sure what to look for, and she seem's to have lots of happy customers (testimonials etc) 3 of which i know are her family and she ticked all the boxes too. She cancelled on me on our first meeting as she was ill, she cancelled the next meeting due to other commitments, she was due to then visit our location for photo's but again had to cancel. At this time i questioned what would happen in an extreme case such as she could not take the photo's, this is when she got very defensive and short with me.

She agreed if we were not happy, under mututal ground we would leave it and find another photographer. She said we could have our refund back as the feelings between us had got heated. When we came back with a decision not to take it any further she said we could not have our deposit. Which left me with having to have my photo's done by her. In the end i got so upset about it i borrowed the cash and found somebody else. Looking at her albums now, i am very pleased me and my partner decided on this. I would strongly recommened any potential bride and groom do look carefully at her photo's (the scenery in the background, photo's of un suspecting people, bad angles etc). I generally feel that with particular photographer, it was a case of you get what you paid for. Little experience and terrible customer service. A very budget offer, but with budget, un-proffesional photo service.

We found Greyeye Photography on the internet early last year when we were looking for Wedding Photographers for our sons summer Wedding. Using the web to judge a company without meeting them is tough but we what we saw of Greyeye's previous work was enough to tempt us into arranging to meet the guys. Matt and Andy were wonderful, amazingly fun and so professional. They must have spent over 14 hours with us on his big day and they produced an outstanding collection of pictures. Highly recommended if your looking for a Wedding Photographer in Yorkshire.

Rod did my wedding last year and although it took a little while to get the photo's (he's so busy! but did warn us from the start that it does take a few months to get the album) the pictures were amazing!

He stayed the whole day and was really great and took hundreds of pictures.

I would have no problem recommending him to anyone getting married.

I hired Philip Jordan and his wife for my wedding photos in May and they turned out to be a real disappointment and an extremely unprofessional company!
I hired them because the pictures on their website of weddings looked brilliant, very different and unique, but now comparing them to my photos, I think they may have taken them from the internet themselves!
I had a pre-wedding shoot with the husband and wife duo to get acquainted, however the first thing they did was to send the CD of the photos to the wrong address! I let this go and after their say so, arranged all the timings for my big day, so what time I would get ready etc.
They turned up to my house and stayed for about 30 minutes, only taking pictures of me putting my make up, none of me in my dress or of my bridesmaids. When later asked about this, they said I had got the times wrong and that they had to rush off to the venue. I think not! I had planned everything to perfection as a bride does!

After my ceremony when it came time to take the formal pictures, from a list we had already provided to them, they had to be asked by my mother to take the pictures! The rushed off after the first dance and were never seen again until I was sent the photos for my approval. When I say a chimpanzee could have done better! There were photos with people's arms in the way, photos of other people taking photos, the photos of my husband and I together were so minute you could hardly tell it was us and there were none of my in my dress! They had the cheek to call this photojournalist photography!!
The quality was appalling but luckily we were able to use our guests photos.

When we wrote to them and explained our disappointment and asked if we could be compensated, either by some money back or a free shoot, the abuse we received back from them was unreal! The wife, Jane, wrote to us telling us we were drunk which was why we hardly had any photos of us and rushed everything to be with our guests. This was not the case, it was COLD and we wanted to get warm. In a stately home, they could not find anywhere inside to photograph us! They also accused my mother and father of being drunk - firstly they do not drink and secondly, this was after the ceremony, we hadn't even had drinks yet! They said my husband and I needed to be treated like children. We asked why they had not been pushier with us, like most wedding photographer are, and they said that we were adults so why did they need to do this!
They also said that they did not know when they would get round to making our album and doing our work as looking at our photos made them feel sick to their stomachs!!

And we paid J1200 for this service!!!!!
All I can say, is DO NOT USE THEM!!! They are unprofessional and take very poor photos!!!! It would be more worthwhile to take your own photos!!

I have had an absolute nightmare since booking this lady as my wedding photographer, upon recommendation. I have seen her work, her website is proof she's good - so nothing could have prepared me for the last 6 months of hell chasing my photographs to no avail.

We spent J1599 on Package Four which included a 50 page high quality album and CD. We paid fully in cash the day before - we have invoices and such to prove so. However, I haven't received my photos yet.

At first she said she'd been ill at hospital and apologised for the delay. Then said she was on holiday abroad. Weeks became months, and the excuses stopped. Now I can't get any response to my emails, phone contact, nothing. I was left with no choice but to try and physically track her down, and found her company address is infact her ex-husband's friend's house. The poor guy apologised profusely but said Sophie hasn't been there since last year, she had racked up thousands in debt that he's having to contend with and has fleeced other couples too.

I rang the police, I didn't know what else to do...And now I'm now seeking a Civil Court Injunction and hoping that others who have had similar experiences will get in touch. The more of us with a voice, the better. She shouldn't be allowed to get away with this and I know I can't be the only one...

NB: Don't confuse this with Sophie Wilson Photography - I don't think this company is the same. The photographer we used is Sophie J Wilson from Eastbourne, I believe her maiden name is Wishart and she uses this sometimes too.

‘You Look Gorgeous’ a photography company ran by Alex Smale has given me a disappointing photography service. He charged over J1000 for his services and did not complete his contracted agreement. My wife and I have been waiting for a Wedding Album, with photos of our special day since October 2009. After numerous emails and little replies and numerous unanswered telephone calls I have decided to warn everyone in Plymouth, planning a dream wedding, to be aware of the poor the photographic services Alex Smale has to give.

I'm so pleased we chose Laura and Henley to photograph our wedding. From the offset they were friendly, easy to speak to and great at keeping in touch which meant it was one less thing for me to fret about! Despite the awful weather conditions (snow!) they magically seemed to be the first to arrive everywhere, which meant we didn't miss out on any photos. They were so unobtrusive during the day we barely noticed they were there, which is great for camera-shy people like us, but they also somehow managed to get photos of everything that went on. We were absolutely delighted with the photos they took - they really captured the day and the mood and I still love poring over them when I have time!

What I also liked is that I felt like they genuinely cared about our day and what was best for us. They offered really good, impartial advice and were never too busy to answer all my questions. I feel like we've got great photos with minimal hassle and made some good friends into the bargain.

I was asked to add a review for Arc Photos. Barry took the pictures for my sister's wedding, so I chose him for mine. He came to see us before the wedding to discuss what we wanted and met my husband at the venue beforehand to check all was well. He helped to organise all the guests and was really friendly with us and the guests.

We chose the Platinum package. The proofs were waiting for us when we came back from honeymoon. After a couple of months he was chasing us for print instructions. We just received the photobooks and prints and everyone is really impressed.

Hello there, my Husband and I wanted to let anyone know that if they require a photographer that is reliable to contact James. He visited us after talking on the phone and he listened to us. We had three people come to see us and yes their work looked very nice on their site, but the first things that they mentioned was how much they wanted for various things. That‘s ok but they didn’t even listen at first to what we wanted so how could they price something if they did not even know the full requirements? James listened to us, and worked with us, and on that day was organised so that we knew what was wanted and so did he. What made it better also was that his prices for what we wanted were considerably less than our previous quotes. I would recommend him anyday !

I simply had to write to let people and yourselves know about this man James Rodden.

We had searched and looked and better looked for a photographer. Basically they all said the same thing when it came to price. I was fortunate. Price didn't matter to an extent, but they all seemed the same somehow when they visited us or talked on the phone - don't get me wrong, nearly all were fantastic imaging, but this mans passion sold him to me. He actually advised how to SAVE and what to do regarding albums and printing, and do you know?

I think that most photographers don't know that the public know about things like high street shops and online stores that provide made up albums for you and can do it at a FRACTION of the price, but James went out of his way to explain how special the wedding day was and how every one was special to him. After meeting him we were sold! To cut a long story short he was hired and I'm glad I did, to this day we look at all he took and all I'll say is this. Photographers who have been at it longer than him and wanted more than double for their services were given a run for their money. He did himself and US proud. Highly recommended - first class at an affordable price.
