Frequently shooting on location for interior designers or when travelling. I am often taking studio photographs of products for clients' websites and their printed or on-line publicity.

Photography

Sometimes products need to have an interesting background. I often put the product in sharp focus in the foreground then make the background soft focus as these shots taken for Swallowtail Hill. Sometimes clients leave the choice of backgrounds to me, for example for men's bracelets, I implied the success of the wearer by placing the products on a copy of the Financial Times as with my shots for Inkerman.
Architecture Photographs
Report
These architecture photographs all use available light and all are hand-held. They are often taken at one location - often classics, such as the Barbican. All of them are taken just as they are, with only the occasional litter clean-up or bollard moving. I also have a vast library of stock photographs, some of which are available to buy on Alamy.com.
Interiors Photographs
Report
Interior design photographs are usually commissioned by designers, where I use available natural light, plus lights within the room itself. Following a quick tour of the rooms to photograph, I work out when the sun would be ideal for each location. Working in this order, I concentrate on shooting the furniture and soft furnishings designed or supplied by the interior design team.
Transport Photographs
Report
When visiting a new city a lot of the excitement is exploring their public transport. These photographs are from diverse locations; a monorail in Wuppertal, a London Underground station and a massive high speed train station in Belgium. I think it is the architecture and its decoration that makes public transport visually stimulating.
